Plans and limits
Charlie offers three plans: Free, Premium and Team. This page gives their limits and how they are counted.

2. How the limits are counted
Requests. Each question sent to Charlie counts as one request, in a session as in a Biodata discussion. Validating and then launching a patent search does not count as an additional request. The counter resets to zero 30 days after the first request of the period, not at the start of the calendar month.
Documents and storage. These two ceilings apply to all the libraries you own. With Premium, you have 50 documents and 50 MB in total, to split among your 3 libraries.
Team. Each member has their own requests and their own watches. A shared library counts toward its owner's limits.
Manual scans. The counter resets to zero 24 hours after the first manual scan of the period.
Biodata. A project corresponds to one imported dataset. Omics analyses and clinical cohorts share the same ceiling.
When a limit is reached. The application tells you at the time of the action and offers the next plan up when there is one. For requests, it also shows the time remaining before the reset.
3. Watch with a free account
A free account does not create watches. Charlie creates one from your exchanges: the example watch. It produces a report every two weeks and is paused after 3 reports. To resume it or create your own, you need Premium or Team. How it works is described in Automated scientific monitoring.
4. Limits common to all plans
- A single library per question for now.
- 4 attached images per question, 5 MB per image.
- 5,000 characters per note.
- 3 article queries and 3 web news queries per watch.
5. Trial, payment and cancellation
Payment. Premium is paid monthly or annually, with a 20% discount for annual payment. Team is paid annually only, and the number of seats is chosen at payment, from 2 to 150.
Trial. A first Premium or Team subscription starts with 14 days with no charge, with the limits of the chosen plan. It can be canceled at any time.
Cancellation. Cancel subscription is found on the Subscription screen. The subscription remains active until the end of the paid period. The account then returns to the Free plan: its limits apply and your watches are paused. If you own several libraries, you will need to keep only one to continue querying it. In a team, all members switch to a free individual account. The cancellation window summarizes what changes for you.
